Equipment packages differ between venues. Confirm what is included when booking, tell the operator about any fit or accessibility needs, and inspect rental equipment before entering the playing area.

01 / Essential protection
A purpose-built paintball mask protects the eyes and face. It should fit securely without gaps, with an intact lens, sound frame and adjustable strap.
The mask must remain in place in every active playing area and anywhere the venue instructs. Ask a marshal for help if it fogs, shifts or becomes uncomfortable.

02 / Field equipment
The marker propels paintballs, the hopper holds the paintballs and the air system provides the operating pressure. Models, calibre and capacity vary between venues.
Venue staff should explain the safety control, loading method and safe direction of the marker. Players should not adjust velocity, dismantle rental equipment or handle air cylinders unless authorised.
03 / Safe handling
A barrel sock or another venue-approved blocking device helps contain an accidental discharge. It should be fitted securely whenever staff direct, particularly outside active play.
A blocking device supports safe handling; it does not replace keeping the marker pointed in a safe direction and following the marshal's instructions.
04 / What to wear
Long sleeves, long trousers or venue-supplied overalls help protect skin and clothing. Dress for the weather and choose layers that allow comfortable movement.
Closed-toe shoes or boots should fit securely and provide grip on uneven or wet ground. Confirm footwear requirements before the day, especially for junior players.
05 / Added comfort
Depending on the venue, gloves, neck protection, chest or back padding, full-head protection, pod harnesses and groin protection may be supplied, hired or available to purchase.
Optional padding can improve comfort but does not replace a correctly fitted mask, safe marker handling or compliance with the venue briefing.
Plan your session
Ask whether the booking includes a mask, marker, hopper, air supply and barrel-blocking device.
Overalls, gloves, body protection, paint pods and full-head protection vary by package and availability.
Suitable footwear, weather layers, water, required medication and a change of clothes are sensible preparations.

Raise any concern with venue staff before entering the playing area. Do not attempt to repair or alter rental equipment yourself.
